Seafront Rangers all trained up!
Bournemouth Seafront Rangers must rank amongst the best-trained in the country. More than a dozen of the beach-front staff have completed not only a Bournemouth Ambassador training but also a half-day Welcome Host Bournemouth customer care course, equipping them with a City & Guilds accredited qualification.
The on-line courses have been created by the National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA) to boost levels of customer care across the resort.
The aim is to encourage all customer-facing tourism employees to take the courses to improve knowledge of Bournemouth and gain solid understanding of great visitor service.
“Making visitors feel they’re important and offering a first-class standard of service is vital if we are to encourage tourists to return,” commented Samantha Richardson, director of the NCTA.
“Coastal tourism is fiercely competitive and whilst we’re fortunate to have outstanding natural assets, excellent service is what makes a holiday memorable. The NCTA is committed to providing training programmes that raise standards to a new gold level and we’d like everyone involved.
“These courses are relevant to every visitor-facing employee in the town. Tourism is worth more than £460m to the conurbation, if every tourist returned and recommended it to their friends, think what it would do to our economy.”
Welcome Host Bournemouth is a half-day course which offers practical guidance on customer service. It follows on from the free on-line Bournemouth Ambassador course which has now been taken by more than 400 employees across the town. Visit www.bournemouthambassador.co.uk to test your knowledge.
