NCTA England’s Coast June Update
Last month the travel insurance website Go.Compare released a survey claiming 33% of Brits plan a staycation this year and 31% plan to visit the coast. The survey asked more than 2,000 adults in May of which more than 1,100 travelled abroad last year.
Poll after poll indicate that holidays are a top priority for Brits even when facing financial adversity and nine in 10 of us return to the same location time and again, we’re evidently risk averse, preferring to enjoy familiarity and avoid bad surprises.
With repeat business looking strong, offering new immersive experiences and highlighting events are likely to keep visitor satisfaction levels high. One sector faring particularly well is local food and drink, it’s never been better on the coast. Our new blog outlines some of the vast range of opportunities, food festivals from Seaham to Broadstairs, foraging banquets in Lancashire, seafood Sundays at a vineyard in Essex and a new Wine Weekender event in Margate – there’s no shortage of choice.
Encourage your guests to take a break from politics, there’s plenty to celebrate on the coast!
Best wishes,
Samantha Richardson MBE
