July Update
"While July’s high temperatures have sent thousands of visitors to the coast giving a much-needed boost to local economies, the influx has been a mixed blessing with many resorts reporting challenging behaviour, parking and litter issues and almost everywhere facing severe staff shortages in hospitality.
The effect of the ‘pingdemic’ will be felt over the next few weeks and has dealt the hospitality industry yet another blow. Without government intervention, many coastal businesses will be only partially open due to staff isolating.
However, this summer has focused media and public attention on the coast, highlighting its diversity and rich tourism offer. As many as four in five Brits are expected to staycation this year giving coastal resorts a unique opportunity to attract new business not only in the peak summer months but during off-season and build solid repeat business.
Despite the challenges, I wish you a very successful summer season"
