With 47 per cent of families staying overnight at seaside destinations, there is no doubt that this is one of the most important sectors to coastal resort’s economies.
However, the market is changing. There are 7.8 million families in the UK, and that figure’s growing. The familiar two adults + two kids unit is declining rapidly as families become smaller, single parent families increase and holiday patterns alter, inter-generational breaks, for example, are increasingly popular.
