The market for health and wellness holidays is growing rapidly. Most holidaymakers want to feel good on holiday, but a growing number want more out of their breaks – to broaden their minds, feel healthier, boost the spirits or relax at a spa.
So if this market is growing, what are the opportunities for coastal tourism businesses? We undertook a one year project with Bournemouth University working with 80 visitor-facing businesses to establish the importance and potential for a health and wellbeing proposition in one area – Dorset, with implications for coastal resorts nationally.
