New festival evaluation: Bournemouth Wheels

A new event always provides a fresh marketing platform for tourist resorts and a great new opportunity for the local hospitality industry.

Bournemouth is well known for its wealth of events, but newest is the Bournemouth Wheels Festival. Billed as the largest free family wheels-themed festival, it took place over the May Bank Holiday weekend in 2014 and featured static displays, animated shows and demonstrations across the town.

To gauge the value of a new event in a coastal setting, the NCTA commissioned an independent evaluation report, undertaken by Tourism South East Research.
