Seaside tourism has regained its pole position as England’s largest holiday sector. Domestic and day trip coastal tourism is worth £8bn, representing nearly one third of all domestic overnight trips.
But growth is fragile, coastal businesses face challenges in employment and skills, job increases nationally are not replicated to the same scale on the coast.
