The Scarlet Hotel is a multi-award winning, luxury, adults-only, eco-hotel and spa on the north coast of Cornwall with sea view bedrooms, cliff top hot tubs and outstanding cuisine.
Since opening in 2009, the hotel has achieved consistent growth and now employs up to 90 staff, with year-round occupancy levels of 82 per cent and low staff turnover. The sister owners are strongly committed to sustainability and ensuring a reduced carbon footprint.
So how have they achieved such success when faced with the challenges associated with an eco-build and a body of sceptics who doubted the plausibility of a hotel that married luxury with sustainable credentials?
